Green Baron Aircraft Scale Model Productions is a one man owned hobby business by Hans Spruijt, who builds plastic aircraft scale models. On this site you will find  my aircraft models in several scales. My favorite scale is 1:48 and most of my models are build of that scale. 

Who is the Green Baron?

Since I participate on the internet, now about 25 years, I used my nickname Green Baron or GB. My name in real life is Hans Spruijt, A born 'Tukker' from Twente a region in the eastern Netherlands. The name  'Green Baron' requires an explanation. My family name is Spruijt, translated in English it means Brussels sprout and when they are fresh, the color of a sprout is green. That's one part of the story. The second part comes from the famous WWI pilot the Red Baron. The passion of my life is aviation. Hence here he is, the Green Baron or GB a.k.a. Hans Spruijt. I was born and raised in the city of Enschede, a town near the German border and more important in my backyard the RNLAF air base Twenthe. As a professional technician I worked as mechanic, ground engineer, project supervisor and Technical Field Representative for Martinair, KLM, KLMUK and KLM Cityhopper. Since 2020 I'm retired and enjoying the beauty of my hobbies: aircraft scale modelling and photography. Nowadays I live in the nice and beautiful Dutch city Haarlem enjoying the good things of aviation.

Scale modelling is a way of living

 Whatsapp. In my early youth one of my passions was the built aircraft models. Inspired by my namesake uncle and jet pilot Hans, I was fascinated by the jets which were flying from  the airbase "Twenthe" not far from where I lived. I was contaminated with the 'aviation virus' ! Nowadays, still infected but retired, after a lifespan in the world  of aviation, I spend my time with building aircraft models. Meanwhile and not only just because I like them, apparently others like  my models too. Further more I show my scale model aircraft on fairs and expositions with many nice positive responses. If you cannot find your favorite model here on this site and you would like to have this model made by me, it is possible to build the model at your request at a reasonable price. This applies to every model and every scale. It is also possible to put together a diorama in consultation. Use the green email button to sent me a request.
